About

At my core I am an artist.

I am Allison, a Colorado-based photographer who travels all over the world, camera in hand. I’ve always said that drawing was my first love, and when forced to choose a role model in 1st grade for an assignment, Leonardo DaVinci was my hero of choice. I studied art in college, and received my BFA from Austin Peay State University over 15 years ago. I spent lots of time getting my hands dirty, whether it was with an old school letterpress, building a sculpture, or soaking in photography chemicals.

I love business, and I love using photography to help businesses succeed. I discovered a love for marketing in high school and made it all the way to the DECA Nationals to compete (which is like the Olympics for marketing nerds). Since then, I have held a firm belief that the way you frame something or tell a story is hugely influential in whether people will want what you have to offer. I make it a point—whether I’m shooting an awards event or a plate of delicious food or an ad campaign—to always keep in mind that I’m not just your photographer but also your marketing agent. I want to photograph in a way that shows off who you are and what you do well, so that people respond positively.

EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING HAS A STORY, AND WE ENJOY TELLING THOSE STORIES IN A WAY ONLY PHOTOGRAPHS CAN DO

I enjoy people, getting to know them and their stories. I like turning strangers into friends. In 2008, I started Stellar Propeller Studio to help people share their stories. Since then, we’ve photographed billionaires and people who literally have nothing, and there is beauty and worth in both worlds.

I want to do something bigger than myself.

Sure, it would be swell to be noticed and famous and have our work well known and liked, but at the end of the day I hope to give my life to things that will outlast it. I don’t want to measure my worth by Facebook and Instagram likes. I want to measure it by how well I used all the gifts that have been placed inside of me. I want to measure it by how well I gave, not by how well I was received.

At Stellar Propeller Studio, we want to help people with OUR photography. we want to honor people with OUR photography. We want OUR photography to be a steppingstone.
